My 2018 Resolutions

There is something about this new year that is giving me hope that it will be a great year. I don’t know why but there are some good vibes about 2018, so I am excited to start the new year. I feel like 2017 was a good year for me but 2018 really has something up and I don’t know what it is but I am 100% looking forward to it. I wrote a list of my resolutions for this year which I hope to achieve:

   1.   I’ll just be reputation
Am I Taylor Swift? I did get inspired by her with this resolution. It happened few times that I will post a poem online and suddenly everyone was picking to see who it was or texting me what it meant. Or a blog post or a tweet.  I am so tired of explaining who I am, what I do and why I act like that. So, I decided that this year I am not explaining myself anymore. People are going to talk no matter what I say and do, so I might as well do whatever it makes me happy.

   2.   Be nice
I always try to be as nice as possible and every year I work harder and harder for it. I know that from my blog I might seem like a nice person, which I am most time but sometimes I feel like I judge people too much or I can be rude. So, I want to be as nice as possible this year.

    3.   Be more eco friendly
I tried so hard to be eco-friendly this year. I carry my own water bottle, I recycle as much as I can and use as little paper as I can. I want to continue this year and try to spread the message to anyone that I can.

   4.   Quitting soda
I tried all this a few years ago and did pretty good. I want to start again this year to stay healthy. So, I really want to stick to water and natural juices.

   5.   Surround with positivity
I’ve been trying to do this for a while last year: remove all the negativity from my life. I am tired of being surrender by negative people and negative things. I would much rather be surrounded by a few people who are positive than with people who drain out the energy out of me. This can also be applied to social media. I am doing a social media cleanses and only keeping those that bring joy and motivate me. I don’t need to see those tweets about failing in life or those Instagram posts about feeling ugly. I just want positive people in my timeline.

  6.   Ran 10k – 20k
I wanted to run 10k this year but I hurt my knee back in May and I had to spent 2 months without exercising. This year I hope I can get to 10k and maybe even run half a marathon. My goal is to run a marathon at some point in my life and these are just some small steps.
Correr 10k-20k.

   7.    Write more poetry
I’ve always been shy about my poetry because it felt too personal. But after my first goal I feel like it is time to stop caring about it and keep on writing. I even created an Instagram to write more and to share it.

What are your goals this year?

We learned and we grew in 2017

2017 was a stranger year. I think that for many people personally, it was a good year. I know the world in general feels a bit conflicted about it. Too many terrorist’s attacks, too many powerful men making the wrong move, too many people fighting and arguing and if we look at my own home country, Argentina, just look at what happened two weeks ago, that sums up how bad 2017 was. It was a hard year, we all struggle emotionally while reading the news everyday but we also smile when justice was being made. When people spoke up, when people stood up for what they believe.  I think we need to see 2017 as an even balance, we had shit but we conquered shit.

To me personally, I don’t think there has been any year where I learn about myself more than this one. I learned who I am, who I want to be and who I was. I learned what I stand for and what I believe in. I learned who I could be and what I can do. To me 2017 was the year of finding myself, finding what I stand for and what I want to see.

I’ve always felt the need to express my political views. I felt like my political views are part of who I am, and what I stand for. I know not everyone finds this relevant or even important but to me it is. This year, however, I finally understood what I stand for, who I support and what I want to see in my country and in the world. I know that this topic is hard for some people, or some people don’t care, or other have opposite ideas than mine and that is why I always stayed away from them. But I don’t want to. I am creating a voice, I am building myself, I am who I am and that is my political views included. I want to say who I back up, and where I stand on certain topics. I learn this year that even if I have a few readers, or followers I am allowing to talk about what I stand for and I don’t care if you agree or not. I learned that if I can at least reach to someone make them understand the importance of voting, being informed, or even knowing about different political views, then I am happy. I am not here to turn anyone into a liberal but I want people to know what we believe and what we want to see in the world. If that inspires you, then great, you are welcome. But I don’t want to be quiet about it.

Global warming has been in our minds since we were kids I believe. This year after a certain someone pulled out of the Paris Treatment, global warming has been more in the mouth of everyone, which is great, it means we are bringing awareness. Of course, the USA being out of the Treatment is the worst move. But at least we are paying more attention. I realize that this year I’ve taken more time to be more careful every day to make sure I am taking care of the environment. Every day we are hit with the consequences of global warming, like the wildfires in California, the hurricanes in the Caribbean and the melting ice in the poles. Not to mention the consequences on wild animals. We can take some time of our day to be a little bit more careful and learn about global warming like I have this past year we can help with global warming. And of course, I am more than happy to inform you in ways you can help too.

Can we also discuss my blog this year? I’ve done a pretty good job at keeping it up, I did fail while I was studying for finals I’ll admit and I’ll probably struggle too this next year but I did get a lot done. I also got my own domain, which is one of those things I am so happy and proud of. I hope this blog really grows next year and I welcome more readers.

Now regarding my personal life, I felt like this year I grew with my health. I put a label on something that I had been trying to understand for a few years and I got the help I needed. I got the courage to open more about it and this way I learn more about my mental health. This is a personal battle which I prefer to keep quiet now but know that I am doing better and I’m working towards it. But it was not just my mental health that was better here, working on myself was so important this year. Working out almost every day and eating healthy. I even quit coffee for more than a month and now I’ve been without coffee for a week! I might have a few fall outs but I feel better and that is what matters. Since we are in the terms of health, I also discovered my synesthesia this year. After believing for a long time that everyone felt the same way I notice that it wasn’t like that. That I had a unique way of seeing the world and relating words and sounds with colors. To be honest, discovering I have synesthesia has been a lot of fun and interesting.

Lastly, for some reason 2017 was filled with forgiveness. Maybe I am growing up or maybe I really do want to leave all the negative thoughts and vibes in the past or maybe I just want closure. But this year I did forgive a lot of people, people who I had swear I would never speak again. But you know what? It felt amazing. Allowing myself to forget the past and step in a new direction is something I know I had to work hard on and I feel like I’ve done it this year. There is still a long list of people who maybe I should forgive and forget and hopefully this year I can work towards it.

2017 was a good year for me personally. I feel like the growth I’ve done will move forwards and I will grow even more next year. I really hope I can work more on my personal and professional life (hopefully I can find a job?) and progress in 2018. I really have high hopes for this year, I don’t know why but it is giving me positive vibes.  Let’s hope it lives up to my expectation.

2016 Resolutions!

I really can’t believe I’m writing my 2016 resolutions, it feels like this year just went by way too fast. But here are the things I hope to achieve next year:
1.       Forget the pain. Being honest, 2015 was a year I did feel a lot of pain and it was hard to get up when I fell. So next year I hope to forget all the pain I felt in 2015 and start fresh.
2.       Live to the fullest/ go on adventures. I feel like I always say I need to go on more adventures but never actually do it or be more spontaneous, next year I hope to finally do it. I want to live life the fullest, not only do random things but do things I haven’t before. Also, I want to go on more adventures even it if the smallest thing like explore a new part in town, I want to do it.
3.       Good grades. Every single students has this goal every year, but unlike this year, I promise myself I will actually work harder to get better grades and do better at school. It is going to be a hard one but I really hope to achieve it.
4.       Stay healthy. I wasn’t the healthiest person this year. I work out less and did not eat healthy, but I made a promise this year I will get back on track and even better. I promise myself I will work out more, and even promise to get back into swimming which is something I know I need to do.
5.       Drive. I said this, this year, but I did get better at driving and I promise to myself I will finally get out there next year. It kind of hard since I’m really scare of it but I want to finally achieve it.
6.       Stop overthinking. I got told this a lot this year, that I was overthinking. So next year I hope I can stop this horrible habit. Not only in the sense of “this is eating me alive” but in the sense of just do it, not over think things through and dare myself to do more.
7.       Ignore what others think/say. And this one goes hand in hand with my blog. I need to stop thinking what others might say, continue posting and doing what makes me happy. But also, in the little habits in life, like what I wear or what I do, I just need to do what makes me happy
8.       Write. I did write more this year, but I want to continue, to get better at it and to achieve more with it. I didn’t write a lot of poetry this year, so next year I hope to do that more. Also, I want to write more for the blog.
9.       Less social media, more contact with people. I really want to use less social media next year. I try this, this year but fail. If we are being honest, I used less Twitter and Facebook this year, which I’m glad. I want to be less dependent on social media and more contact with people. I want to have face to face conversation and less WhatsApp chats.
10.   Save money. I might even start working this year to get money, a small job, but I want to win some money of my own. I promise that next year I will go on vacation with my friends and for that I need more money, so I hope to work to get money.
11.   Just be happy. Like I said before 2015 was not the best year and I was not the happiest if we are being honest. So after doing all the things I’ve mention above, I really hope to be happy next year.
What are your New Year resolutions?

10 things that made me happy in 2015

2015 was a strange year. I would defiantly call it a roller coaster kind of year. A lot of things change, I did mostly. Even though the last two months were the hardest, the rest of the year was really something and to look on the bright side here are 10 things that made me happy this year.

1.       Moving back to Buenos Aires. It was defiantly scary step in my life, and I’m still pretty shake by this big step. It was really something I needed to do and I’m glad I did.

2.       Starting university. Another scary step that happened this year. It was hard to be honest, a lot of time studying and I did fall a lot, but I was able to get up and move forward.

3.       New friends. I met so many people this year and everyone was so amazing. I’m so happy I met all the people I did this year. All of them have teach me something and some have become a big part in my life.

4.       Punta Del Este. I travel to Punta Del Este last September and I fell in love with that place. Since I love traveling to new places, I had a great time. I really can’t wait to go back.

5.       We color. Last month, my friends and I went to the We Color, which in case you don’t know what it is, it is a festival where people throw color dusts at each other and the music was also pretty amazing. My friends and I spent the whole day running, and dancing around cover in colorful dust.

6.       Tattoo. This year I finally got my first tattoo. It was something I’ve been wanting since I was probably thirteen and I finally did it. Not only was a great experience but it is something meaningful to me that I will carry around forever.

7.       Going out. I started going out this year to parties, clubs, and bars with my friends. I used to hate to go out but now I can honestly say I love it. I love meeting new people and having crazy adventures with my friends. (Picture was taken at 6 am in Buenos Aires while we were walking back to a van to take us home, I was with a friend and someone I had no idea who he was).

8.       Ed Sheeran concert. Ever since I found his music I was dying to go to one of his concert and earlier this year I did. It was really one of the best concert I’ve ever been, he is someone who puts so much passion to his music and his talent is extraordinary.

9.       Hair. This year I cut my hair really short, shorter than ever. I’ve been wanting to do this for so long and never had the guts to do it, and I finally did this year and I loved it so much. I’m glad I finally to the chance.

10.   Elections. I’ve mention this before, but nothing makes me happier than knowing my country is finally going through a big change.
What made you happy this year?

2015 Resolutions!

Hello everyone! I know I’m a Little late on this but I thought it was a little cliché to do a post about my New Year resolutions and bla bla. But since I’ve been away and had a lot of time to think  and I’ve watched a lot
of people’s new year resolutions I thought I write mine here, to share and as a reminder for myself.

1.       Take more pictures.
I know this sounds weird, but I’ve realized I don’t take enough pictures, even if it of the random thing or if they come out bad I want to take pictures. Also, the fact that I got an Fujifilm Instax I’ve been waiting to save my papers for special occasions but I’ve realized I want to use them all and just take pictures with my polaroid. Also, I’ve been going to Urban Outfitters and dying to buy a photography book to learn more.
2.       Keep writing
And by writing I mean everything, from my journal to my story. So last year was the year I actually started a story I have become truly attached and I love, I want to continue with this. I also want to continue with the blog all year, as well as most of my poems and my journal where all my thoughts are put in.
3.       Be more independent
Last year resolution was to learn how to drive, which I did. But I’m so scared of getting behind the wheel and this year I have promise myself and my family to actually practice more and go out with the car. I want to allow myself to be more independent and not have anyone driving me around.
4.       Be healthy
I’m so happy what I have reached based on my health last year. I manage to go to the gym and eat better. So, this year I want to improve this and stay on the right track. Since it is going to be such a hard and New Year I want my health to be fine.
5.       More adventures
In 2014 I spent so many days stuck at home because I felt like there was nothing out there. I wanted to do something new and I couldn’t find it. This year I want to do something crazy, I want to be able to see new things and explore more.
6.       Stay on track with school
I was in the Honor Roll and got a good grade on my International exam last year so I want this year to be the same, because of the joy and happiness I felt about achieving all this. I want my first year of college to be good and to get good grades.
7.       Save money
And with this one I go back to number 5. I want to save money to be able to do more things. I want to travel with my friends at the end of the year, and for this I need to save money.

So this are my resolutions, what are yours? What do you want for this year?
Love
Pili

What's next?

I honestly can’t believe it is 2014. 2014 is a big year, at least for me, and I believe many of you can relate to this.
2013 was a crazy year. I have achieve a lot I’ve been wanted to achieve for many years and I can say I’m leaving this year behind proud of myself. I’ve moved on from a lot of pain and trouble than have been bothering me for a while now and I am finally setting myself free. I think 2013 was the year of setting myself free. Free from all the pain and trouble that had been dragging me for some time, I move on and became someone I think I’m proud and happy with. I hit a place in my life where I’m at peace and happy with myself, with who I am and who I have surround myself with. It was a hard year, I had to let many people go and move on, but I found new ones which I’m happier with. I also discover something I haven’t done in a long time, and that is writing. I was missing writing and after everything I think going back to the pleasure of writing was another way to aloud myself to do what I want and to feel more free. It defiantly was a big year and I’m ready to move past and start this new chapter. 2014 here I go.

2014 is in fact a huge deal and here is why. I’m turning the big 18 in a few days and this makes me nervous, happy and confuse at the same time. I’m finally grown up, I have more freedom and at the same time more responsibilities. I’m looking back at some year and realize how crazy that my childhood is sort of coming to an end. But in a way I’m relief, because I can do other stuff, stuff that I actually want and decided for myself to do. Then there is my Senior year and IB year. This quite honestly is crazier that anything else. I’m finishing high school. I’m finishing 12 years of studying, 12 years of having teacher tell you what to do, 12 years of being inside a place for 8 hours straight, 12 years of being a kid, and moving on and going to college, which another thing that freaks me out a little, but I’m ready, I want to and need it. Being a senior also involves the stress and I don’t think I’m yet mentally ready for that. Finals, IB, Colleges, grades and organizing school activities, is going to be one crazy year. School coming to an end also means is time for me to move back home to study and this is something that I’ve been putting of thinking and sort of a taboo to think around my friends. I will miss my friends a lot, but I can’t wait to see what the world has for us. Then, there is this blog. I’m ready to go on with this, to write my feelings and finally share with you, with the world, and to show you who I am. I’ve been wanted to do this for quite some time, and now I’m ready, so here I go. 2014 you are going to be a life changing year, but I’m ready to tackle you down.
Hope you all have a wonderful 2014!
Love,

Pili
