Being completely honest Madrid is one of those cities where I see myself living. I don’t know why but I really enjoy this city. Something about it reminded of a much cleaner and friendly Buenos Aires, so it felt like being home but even more at home than home.
Siendo completamente honesta Madrid es una de esas ciudades en la donde me veo viviendo. No sé porque, pero disfrute mucho la ciudad. Tiene algo que me hace acordar a un Buenos Aires más limpio y amigable, así que se sentía como estar en casa, pero más en casa que casa.
This might be a bit confusing but we flew in Madrid first and we stayed there for a day, then we did Barcelona, Paris, London and then we flew back to Madrid and stayed there for another day. So, we spent only two full days there.
Esto puede ser un poco confuso, pero viajamos a Madrid primero y nos quedamos un día, después fuimos a: Barcelona, Paris, Londres y después volvimos a Madrid donde nos quedamos un día más. Así que, estuvimos dos días enteros ahí.
Day 1: Puerta del sol- Gran Vía- Plaza Mayor

El primer día hicimos bastante porque todo está cerca y se puede ir caminando. El primero lugar que fuimos fue la Puerta del Sol, es una plaza y la parte más concurrida de la ciudad. La verdad es que no hay mucho para hacer ahí solo ver la estatua del Oso y el Madroño que representa Madrid.

We then walk to la Gran Via which is a huge street filled with stores but I really loved the way the buildings look, most of them being old. Shopping in Madrid is cheap (at least compared to Buenos Aires and the rest of Europe), so we did spend some time there.
Después caminamos por la Gran Vía es una calle llena de negocios, pero lo que más me gusto fueron las apariencias de los edificios que eran más viejos. La ropa en Madrid es muy barata (por lo menos en comparación a Buenos Aires y el resto de Europa) así que estuvimos un buen tiempo ahí.

From there we went to Plaza Mayor (for some reason I don’t have any pictures) to find a place to eat. We sat down and had some typical Spanish Tortilla and ham sandwich (Spanish ham is literally the best one you’ll ever try).
Desde ahí fuimos a la Plaza Mayor (por alguna razón no tengo fotos ahí) para buscar un lugar para comer. Nos sentamos en un lugar donde servían tortilla española y sándwich de jamón crudo (el mejor que probé en mi vida).

After lunch, we continue walking until we arrived at Plaza de Cibeles which is a square that has the symbolic monuments of the city and has the city hall. Only a few blocks from there are the Puerta de Alcala, which used to be the gate to enter the city of Madrid.
Después de almorzar seguimos caminando hasta llegar a la Plaza de Cibeles una plaza que tiene los monumentos más simbólicos de la ciudad y el palacio municipal. A unas cuadras de ahí está la Puerta de Alcalá, era una de las puertas a la ciudad de Madrid.

After the temperature drops due to getting darker, we went to Museo Del Prado, which honestly it is not my favorite museum since I like modern painting a lot more, but it was fun and good place to relax after a walking the entire day in the cold weather.
Después de que la temperatura baje porque estaba oscureciendo fuimos al Museo del Prado, que la verdad no es de mis favoritos ya que me gusta más el arte moderno. Pero fue divertido y un buen lugar para relajarte después de caminar bajo el frío todo el día.

On our way back home, we stayed in Madrid for one more day. We spent the morning at the Parque Buen Retiro, which is one of the biggest one in Madrid and is nice to just walk around. Afterward, we grabbed lunch and walked around.
Cuando volvíamos a Buenos Aires tuvimos una escala de un día en Madrid. Pasamos la mañana en el Parque Buen Retiro, que es uno de los más grandes de Madrid y es muy lindo para caminarlo. Después de comer seguimos caminando por la ciudad.

In the afternoon, we went to the Reina Sofia Museum which I was really excited about it, since it has more modern art and it has Guernica by Picasso and that was an incredible painting. Not only is it huge but it’s beautifully done.
A la tarde, pasamos por el Museo Reina Sofia, no es un museo muy grande. Pero este me gusto más que el Museo del Prado porque tiene arte más moderno. En este museo se encuentra el Guernica de Picasso y es realmente increíble no solo por lo grande que es sino por lo bien que está hecho.
