October Favorites

Is it really November already? I can’t believe I am writing my October favorites, to be honest. October was a hectic month, between school projects, exams among other things, it has been crazy. Even though this month started rather slow, this last few weeks have been stressful and full of either events or school work. It is truly the first time I am writing a post without rushing, just sitting with my tea. I know my list involves a lot of entertainment but I feel like it is good to slow down for a bit every now and then and watch a movie or tv show, plus a lot of this is from September!

I’ve never felt comfortable wearing base and I struggle with finding a good color for my skin, so I’ve turned to BB creams. I used to wear this BB cream until it got stolen and had to turned to turned to a different brand since we don’t have The Body Shop here. But since I’ve been switch all my make up to cruelty-free, (still not fully there and any advice is welcome), I decided to go back to this BB cream. What I love about the BB cream is that is not heavy or oily on the skin and the way it adapts to your skin color is amazing.

Eucerin sunscreen

I know I am contradicting myself with my previous paragraph since Eucerin is not cruelty-free. But I needed a good sunscreen and my dermatologist gave me this one. Until I can find a new one that is cruelty-free, and in my country, I will have to use it. I love this one because it is not oily, and I’ve been searching for the right sunscreen to wear daily for a while.
Protector solar Eucerin.

I saw a pair of leggings from Adidas by Stella McCartney on Karlie Kloss which were similar mixing white and black and I was in love. Of course, the Adidas leggings were above my budget, but H&M had similar ones and I needed to have them. They are not only cute but amazing for any type of workout.

What a show. You have probably heard about this tv show online like I did. It was all on my twitter and Instagram. I tried to give it a try and was like: not my thing. Until my friends came over and we spent 3 hours straight watching it. It is a great show, you really need to give it a try even if you don’t like. It goes beyond the average cartoon.

When Mr. Robot comes back every year I feel like a new human and an empty feeling is fill. That good. This TV show has been my favorite since 2015 when my brother introduced it to me. The storyline is so creative, actors are incredible, the music and image are stunning. The entire show is a series of plot twist and you must pay attention, you blink, and you miss it.

I knew that I needed to watch this the second it came out. I am a big documentary nerd and singer’s documentary are my favorites. Lady Gaga opens about her family, her illness, the process of her album and how she prepared for her Super Bowl performance. The documentary is done beautifully and seeing Gaga like that is truly inspiring and touching.

Another singer’s documentary. Guilty. Just like the previous one Demi opens about personal issues, like her sobriety, her mental illness, and her father. I was almost in tears while watching, it was truly touching.
Otro documental de una cantante. Culpable.

New Miley music? I’ll have all of it. I was already obsessing over Younger Now and Malibu, so I fell in love with the album that came out in late September. Miley is really changing her sounds and is the type of sound that I love a mix of pop, acoustic and country.

Taylor Swift new album comes out this week and to pregame for it she’s been releasing new music. I really didn’t get into Look What You Made me do, until recently. Her new sound is really something, not really my things but they are good songs to drive to.
No me gustó mucho Look What You Made Me Do, hasta hace poco.

August Favorites

It's the last day of August, and I am hearing people talk how it literally feels like August lasted forever, I agree! Has it really been only a month since I started the new semester? I am a little bummed that August it's over since it means winter is over and Spring is right around the corner for the South Hemisphere. Although I enjoy a bit of warmer weather and less rain, I don’t really enjoy summer, plus it means finals are getting closer. I haven’t really done a favorites since I’m only starting with the blog, so I picked up some of the things I’ve been using and loving this month/s for this post to show them off as my favorites:

I mentioned in a previous post my obsession for bralettes. There is something so comfortable about them that I could wear them all day. I recently picked up this one from Urban Outfitters while they were in sale and I love it. Since all of my previous ones had lace on them it was hard to wear them with a regular tight t-shirt but this one is perfect! I also love the extra strap it has.

Metallic Backpack
Similar here and here
I’ve owned this backpack for a year now, but I honestly couldn’t imagine it not having it. I take it everywhere, and I do mean everywhere. I got it while I was in Poland last year and it survived that entire trip as well as my trip earlier this year. The size is perfect, since I usually don’t carry much when I travel, probably my camera, wallet and small bag with toiletries.

I love my old wallet, but unfortunately it was getting too small. Ever since I got my Starbucks membership (yep, I am that person) as well as my student ID (Yes, after 3 years), I needed a bigger one. I love this one because it has a lot of credit card slip pockets and two different sections (so I can keep my random papers and receipts in one). The design is so pretty, I was literally in love with it since I didn’t want a “grown up” look for my wallet anymore.

This book is a must for every women out there (of course men can too!). Kelly is literally my ultimate goals, she is Canadian writer living in LA with three kids, a dog and two cats. I first started following her on Twitter and I was dying at her tweets, but once she moved to snapchat it got even funnier! Her first book was hilarious so when she announces a second one I was so excited. This book touches heavier subjects, like Kelly’s anxiety, moving to LA and her “It's not okay” campaign, which I read through it since the beginning (do spend some time reading about it, really important cause).

Game of Thrones
IS YOUR MIND BLOWN? MINE IS! How crazy was this last season? I think I died at least once in each episode. I love Game of Thrones, and we had a new episode every week throughout the whole month of August to kill the Sunday blues.

Everybody -Logic
I started listening to Logic just this week after his performance at the VMAs. I was touch  with the message he spreads and was even more obsessed once I listened to his whole album and realize how he talks about serious issues, like mental health and racism. I was never into rap that much but Logic truly went out there and made me love this album.

February Favorites

Another month of 2016 has come to another, way too fast. I hope you enjoyed my little reflection from my last post, I’ve been planning it all month and I was so excited to post it. Other than those things that I’ve mentioned in my post, there are some things I’ve been enjoying  from make up to a TV show I watched when I was way too young to get it.

I’ve been wanting a red lipstick for a while now but I never really dare to buy it because I did not know how it would look. When I tried this one after my dad gave it to me for my birthday I feel in love. I felt pretty Taylor Swift when I wore it, an effect that only MAC can give you to be honest.

My makeup got stolen in December and I was really needing a new mascara since I kept stealing my mom’s, she owns this one and I loved it, so my dad got me this one as well. I’m so in love the way this mascara makes my eyelashes and I love how you have two wands so you can have either voluminous or define eyelashes.

I love wearing eyeliner, I can’t go out to parties or clubs without it. But I always have trouble since by the end of the night you can see the eyeliner smear all over my face. However, this eyeliner is clumsy me proof.

It actually runs in my family to have bag under my eyes, that and the fact that I barely get any sleep, this is a lifesaver. My concealer also got stolen so I asked my sister for this one while she was on vacation and I love it. Not only the fact that is a bar is amazing but the way it works, just makes wonders. Also, they have so many different tones.

Although this one is a little bit darker than my usual tone I think it is amazing for the summer, where you might want to look a little bit tanner. I adore BB Creams, and after a friend told me to get Maybelline I begged my mom to try and find it while she was in the US. This one leaves your skin so hydrated and so smooth, it’s perfect to wear it all day.

  6.    Cath Kidston Overnight Pouch//Similar here
Not only the design is really cute but I love the size and shape of this one. I love how all my makeup fits there perfectly and whenever I have to travel or go somewhere I can just grab that and take it with me.

  7.    Spotlight
Every single second of this movie I was focused on the screen, and that is hard for someone like me. Maybe it was because I want to be a journalist and do this kind of work but I couldn’t turn my eyes away. This movie is genius (it did win the Oscar for best movie), I love how it shows you an issue that many people turn their head away from. This is a movie I highly recommend to watch for anyone, but really, if you want to be a journalist this is a must watch.

  8.    Blue Neighborhood by Troye Sivan
No surprise here, another Troye Sivan album out, and it is added to my favorites. I’ve been listening to this album none stop, I listen it while I’m working out, while I take the dog for a walk or when I’m studying, it is just an album to do anything. Last week he released his Youth music video and I loved every single second of it, because it is my favorite type of music video.

  9.    Gilmore Girls
Oh yes this is an old one. I remember my sister watching this when I was younger and now that is on Netflix I decided to watch it as well. It is one of those shows that every girl needs to watch, like Gossip Girl. Just amazing.

  10.                      Looking for Alaska by John Green
Lastly, this book. I read it when I was 16 and I really loved, and now reading it again four years later I just remember how great it is. It reminds me a lot of The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger, so of course I’m a big fan. I simply adore the way John Green writes, everything he writes I feel in love. And I love the fact that is the 10th Anniversary edition.

September and October Favorites

1.       SEPHORA COLLECTION IT Palette – Nude. I won a contest online and had to opportunity to choose some stuff from Sephora. I picked this palette because I loved the variety it had. I love how it also came with an eyeliner and a ton of different eye shadows, from a lot of different colors.

2.       SEPHORA COLLECTION Colorful 5 Eyeshadow Palette. Same with this one, picked it at the contest I won. I’ve been wearing this one a lot. I really like the greenish one because it has a little bit of glitter and make your eyes pop more.

3.       Maybelline Expert Eyes eyeliner. I’ve been needing a new eyeliner for quite some time now. To be honest, Revlon has not been so good to me so after my friend recommended me I switched to Maybelline and I love it. I wear eyeliner whenever I go out and by the end of the night my eyeliner is basically on my cheek, but it has not happened with this one!

4.       With Love by Zara. I did show the small version of this one on my previous favorite, so I went ahead and bought the bigger version. I’ve been getting so many compliments about the smell and honestly is one of my favorites one out there.

5.       Cat shirt from Zara. While at Zara I also picked this shirt. The moment I saw it I was like: THAT’S ME! And every time I wear it people would say: that shirt is so you. I mean, there are cats, donuts and ice cream.

6.       Unicorn onesie. I mentioned before I had two costume parties and I wore this onesie to both of them. Not only it is an amazing costume but it is so warm. During both parties people were freezing and I was extremely cozy. I was a very happy and warm unicorn.

7.       Wild by Troye Sivan. This EP has been my favorite thing to listen at all times this month. I honestly can’t stop listen it to it and I’m so excited for Troye to release an entire album.

8.       American Horror Story. I was terrified of watching this at first because I knew I would not be able to sleep at night. After finally having to watch the first few episode I could not stop. The first season was not at all scary but I am getting scare in the second one. Honestly, I can’t watch the show at night and when I’m home alone I do jump every now and then.

July and August Favorites

Hi! Can you believe August is almost over? Where has this whole year go?
I decided to do July and August together since July was only exams and studying except for the last two weeks. So, grab some tea and prepare to read a lot on what I’ve been obsessing this past two months.

      1.       Faux leather white back pack. The moment I saw this backpack I needed to get it. I’ve been wanting a new bag for school for some time now and I wanted one big enough for it and traveling. I was surprise with the size when I got it, everything fits so perfectly, my laptop, agenda, water bottle, everything. Similar here and here.

     2.       Joggers. Comfiest pants ever anyone? This pants are the best thing out there, after a long day at university this are my go to pants. I’m also planning to wear them for: a. working out, b. comfy clothes after swimming, and c. finals or exams periods.

     3.       From Zara with Love 10ml perfume. I mean not only does it smell amazing but it’s so practical. The size just makes it so easy to carry everywhere. It’s like an emergency perfume everywhere you go.

      4.       Insta film Pandora Edition. I really love theme Polaroid print and this one is no exception, I used all of them on my trip because my friends and I really like the cute drawings on the size. Might be purchasing them again soon.

     5.       Relentlessly red lipstick. Can we all agree Mac lipsticks are the best? Even the smell is ah-mazing. I got this color because I was kind of sad they didn’t have any purple ones left and my mom helped me pick it up. I really wanted a more summer color sine the other Mac I had is more for the winter. Of course, it is mate because I’m pretty obsessed with the way they make my lips look.

     6.       Nine Stories by J.D. Salinger. No surprise here, another Salinger book. I still need to finish it but I’m really liking this stories. I really enjoy how he secretly adds a member of the Glass family every now and then (you’ll get it if you read the book and google it later). I highly recommend it if you enjoy Salinger and short stories.

      7.       El Clan by Pablo Trapero. I really really like this movie. I’ve never been an Argentinean movie love but I really like this one. It is a little violent and intense, I would not recommend to everyone but it is pretty interesting if you are into crimes and a little bit of Argentina history.

      8.       Not an Apology by Bea Miller. I can’t stop listening to this album. I’ve been a fan of Bea for a while and I was so excited with her new album. My favorite song is Force of Nature the lyrics are so beautiful and I love the acoustic sound it has compare to the more pop sound the rest of the songs have.

      9.       Growing up by Macklemore and RyanLewis Ft. Ed Sheeran. Every single time I hear this song I get goose bumps. The lyrics are so beautiful and I love the sound of their voices together. I’ll totally buy an album by this three.

    10.   Pen pals.  I’ve never had a pen pal before. The amazing Courtney runs this great Tumblr to connect people all over the world who are looking for pen pals and I’ve been obsessed ever since I got my first email. People are so nice and I love to read about their different cultures. It’s an amazing way to meet people from all over the world.

     11.   Painting mandalas. My mom and sisters would spent so much time painting mandalas and I finally gave in. it’s so relaxing, it may sound stupid but I swear it its. It also reminds me of when I was younger and I’ll spend hours coloring the coloring book my grandma got me.

   12.   Fairy lights. I don’t know for how long I’ve been wanting this and I finally got them. I love how Tumblr my room looks with them, they go so well with my Polaroid.

   13.   Rubbermaid water bottle. Maybe this is the most random piece of this list but I really like this one. I carry with me everywhere I go because it is so practical and it really does help me drink more water. It is also a really strong material and I can guarantee it won’t spill inside your bag.
