Poem-Sea

Hello! So today post is a little bit different from my usual post and a bit more personal. Here is a poem I wrote while I was in a cruise, falling in love and watching the sea on a daily basis. I hope you enjoy it.

¡Hola! El post de hoy es un poco diferente de lo normal y un poco más personal. Acá hay un poema que escribí cuando estaba en el crucero, enamorándome y mirando el mar a diario. Espero que les guste.

The Catcher

Hello guys! Like I promise I’m posting again this week! But this one is a little personal. Like I mentioned before I’m not a big fan of sharing my poetry with people but I got a little inspired a decided to give it another try with this one.
I want to share the story behind this one because it is more personal that last one and I feel like a lot of people would identify and understand. This poem was inspired by many ideas I had in my head that day:

First, I am reading The Catcher In The Rye by J.D. Salinger and if you interpret like I do it talks a lot about growing up and the transition from being a teenager to and adult, and this is what this poem is about, growing up and being a grown up.
Second, the song called Ribs by Lorde had been stuck in my head the past few months, and how she repeats, it drives you crazy getting old and I wanted to express that, I wanted to express how I felt about growing up and all the changes we go through.
The next reason is way more personal. I’ve going crazy with school things and being just busy. If I’m not doing a project, I’m learning how to drive, or figuring out college or how to live on my own. I realized how little time I had for the thing I loved when I was younger. It is like adults change so much because we don’t have enough time anymore. I remember a few weeks my friend said: I don’t go on Tumblr anymore or read anything about my favorite band. It suddenly hit me why, we are so busy with growing up and grown-ups things we forget what we did when we were younger and had more time.

Hope you like it and I can’t wait to share more poems of mine with you J
Lots of love,
Pili

Poetry

HI! It has been more than a week since I last posted! I apologize, I actually have 3 good reasons why, first one being I started school again, so that has got me everywhere except with writing time! The second one is a nice friend of mine call IB, yep the International Baccalaureate, my friends. In case you don’t know it’s like AP subjects, maybe even harder and longer. So I’m starting all my IB projects, running around teachers and giving them ideas. The third and last is my Microsoft Word wasn't working and I like writing there before posting. Anyways, I promised I tried to post more and this blog might help me in my CAS class (more IB stuff) so I’ll post more often.

Enough of this, today I’m going to share one of my latest poem. I actually really liked this one, and I think you can interpret it however you want it. It is different from what I normally write because it is not based on anything personal.

Bare
You stand there bare
Giving me everything
Helping me through everything
And I can’t think straight

You stand there bare
The taxi cabs and the snow
The city moving fast
And I stare at you slowly

You stand there as your laugh echoes
You have that winning smile
Your head through back
And I listen to your laugh smiling

I stand there bare
I stand there looking out
I stand there as my laugh echoes
You can’t think straight, but you listen and stare

I hope you enjoy it, I would love some feedback and may I’ll post more poems!
Love,
Pili
